The Association of Tanzanian Water Suppliers was formally started in October 2002 after registration through Registrar of Societies as Non Governmental Organisation (NGO).

GOVERNANCE

THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Annual General Meeting is the supreme organ of the association. Once a year, it brings together all members of the Association and endorses decisions or proposals adopted or brought by Executive Board.

THE EXECUTIVE BOARD

The Executive Board is the executive organ of the Association. It proposes actions and decisions of the Association. It has powers to act on behalf of the Association.

THE ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY

The Administrative Secretariat is the permanent executive agent for the Executive Board.Reporting to the Chairman,the Administrative Secretary is responsible for administrative, accounting and technical management of the association.

THE SECRETARIAT
The Secretariat is the permanent executive agent for the Executive Board. Reporting to the Chairman, the Chief Executive is responsible for administrative, accounting and technical management of the Association.

STAFF

With the exception of the Executive board, ATAWAS has three permanent staff in the office, the Chief Executive, Administrative secretary and Finance Officer.
