The Association of Tanzanian Water Suppliers (ATAWAS) is a national platform that brings together utilities, professionals, and institutions to strengthen the delivery of clean water and improved sanitation. We work hand-in-hand with the government, private sector, and development partners to create sustainable solutions that respond to the country’s growing water needs.
Through capacity building, policy advocacy, networking, and innovation, ATAWAS drives progress and promotes best practices in the sector. Our goal is to unify efforts, elevate standards, and ensure that every Tanzanian has access to safe and reliable water services.
To be a world-class association promoting best practices in Tanzania’s water and sanitation sector. We aim to lead by example — inspiring innovation, professionalism, and sustainability.
To foster knowledge, innovation, ethics, and collaboration among water sector stakeholders, while promoting professional development and driving sustainable solutions.
To unify and empower stakeholders across the sector, create room for dialogue, and influence policy and practice that improves service delivery and water access in Tanzania and beyond.
ATAWAS was founded on the belief that collaboration and knowledge exchange are key to solving Tanzania’s water challenges. Our constitution aligns with the National Water Policy, and we act as a bridge between community needs, institutional growth, and sustainable sector development.
